What's up with The Big Three?

Monday's open gym not only afforded me a chance to check out most of MU's newcomers, it also was an opportunity to catch up with Dominic James, Jerel McNeal and Wesley Matthews for the first time in quite a while -- James and McNeal especially.

While McNeal and Matthews both had a busy spring and early summer trying out for various NBA teams and playing in NBA summer leagues, James went an entire month without even touching a basketball.

It wasn't laziness. After trying the best he could to display his wares for a handful of NBA teams while still not fully recovered from the broken left foot he suffered in late February against UConn, he was able to impress the Milwaukee Bucks enough to earn an invitation to their rookie/free agent camp in early July.

Two things.   1.   I agree witht he poster at jsonline that the longer a kid stays in school, the more flaws scouts find in his game.    Looking back, DJ would have been better off leaving after his freshman year.   2.  McNeal describing what happened with Sacramento sounds like Roseboro describing what happened here.    The impression he had turned out to be far from the reality.    Personally, I still think the best thing for all 3 of them is to go to Europe and learn to play as guards, instead of as 6'2" wings and 6'5" power forwards.

Good info from Todd

Sounds like Wes really has a good shot at making the Jazz roster...hopefully Jerel can work into the Clippers camp and DJ gets something in Europe.
