It's amazing what a Bo Ryan team can do with actual athletes on it.

Hey Chicos, why no obscure DirecTV channel showing these games?  For $140 bucks a month I should be able to see every sporting match on earth  ;)

Is this for Zar's team or are there two tournaments in progress for USA BB?  Confused.

There are 2 USA teams plying internationally at the moment.  One is the team Lazar is on and coached by Ryan the other is the under 19 team coached by Jamie Dixon and playing in New Zealand.

I was thinking the other day that the coaches appear to give up a lot since this is a big off campus recruiting period and they obviously can't be off recruiting if they are in New Zealand or Serbia.

USA plays Serbia at 8:00 p.m. Serbia time, so the game started 13 minutes ago (1pm CST).

Not a chance in a million years.  He was a great entertainer, but quite frankly the hero worship for a guy that had to settle two child molestation suits and an aquittal on another one that reaked of jurors cashing in on the verdict....let's just say I think it's way overboard what is going on.

Surprisingly, the drive into work today was not impacted at all for me by the memorial.

I just read that the police were bracing for over 250,000 people to around the Staples Center, yeah about 1,000 showed that included reporters.

Funny or Die Tweet from this morning: "If you didn't win a "MJ Memorial Service" ticket, go to your local Staples and complain to the manager, they like it.   :D

I am in Europe at the moment.  I even have the University Games on TV.  However, it is not Serbia vs. USA but Japan vs. Poland in women's vollyball.  :P

I guess long-legged Baltic blonds get higher ratings than mens basketball.   ;D

Every time I see the "PuertoRicanNightmare" handle I think of Butch Lee and the 1976 Olympics when he almost single-handedly beat the highly favored U.S. team while he played for Puerto Rico, just after his Sophomore year.  (I just looked it up; Lee had 35 pts. on 15-18 shooting.)

The U.S. pulled that game out on their way to the gold metal, but all anyone wanted to talk about was this Butch Lee dude that almost created a "Puerto Rican Nightmare."  But alas, the U.S. survived and conquered.

Then Butch and the Warriors win the 1977 NCAA basketball championship the following year when Butch should have been the Wooden Award winner as college hoops' best player.  It seems to me that Phil Ford of UNC, who MU  beat in the final won the award.

BTW, that NC team had at least 5 kids drafted by the NBA:, Ford, Mike O'Koren, Walter Davis, the big center dufus Rich Yonakor?? and their point guard and new Pistons coach, John Kuester.

BTW2, I loved the last three guards to graduate from MU but none of them could hold Butch's jock.

Is there a connection between that near Puerto Rican Nightmare, MU Scoop's frequent poster and our beloved Butch?
