Hayward makes USA Basketball debut

MU senior forward Lazar Hayward was one of four players to score in double figures as the United States beat Canada, 85-81, in the Serbia International Invitational in Belgrade, Serbia on Saturday night.

Three of the four double-figure scorers hail from the Big East: West Virginia's Da'Sean Butler, who scored a team-high 20 points, Villanova's Corey Fisher, who had 11, and Hayward, who finished with 10 for USA Basketball's World University Games team in this warm-up for the World University Games.

Hayward, wearing No. 11, played 20 minutes off the bench for coach Bo Ryan, and knocked down both of his three-point attempts. He hit 4 of 6 shots overall, and also chipped in with three rebounds, an assist and a steal.

The U.S. plays its next warmup game against host Serbia at 2 p.m. Saturday.

It officially opens up play in the University Games against Finland on July 3 at 1 p.m.

Yeah, I'd love to find some place to watch

Wow.  I haven't heard of a single one of those Canadian players.  Looks like most of them attend Canadian universities.
