While i'm not a big fan of Tom Crean, I am not starting this thread with the intention of bashing him. That being said, does anyone know why Bernie M. (not even going to try to spell his last name) from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch would ask Tom Crean to Tweet him on his blog? Is Bernie an IU guy? Is he making fun of coaches using Twitter? Is he an MU guy making fun of Crean because he can?

It's something cute some old reporter can say to sound hip.

I can't remember, does Bernie love or hate La Russa today?  He wafflles a lot...and eats waffles a lot.

I believe this is the same ass clown that finds it disrespectful that the Brewers untuck their jerseys after a win...

EDIT:  On second thought, I may be mistaken

Bernie is one of two main sports columnist for the Post-Dispatch.  Kind of like a Michael Hunt for the Journal Sentinal.  Lately he's really into Twitter, so it probably had something to do with that.

And compared to a lot of people in St. Louis sports, he likes Tony LaRussa.

As far as the untucking of the shirts, I'm pretty sure it wasn't him who got upset about it, I think it was LaRussa.

I have no idea why anybody wouldn't like the best pure manager in the game.  Prolly cuz he isn't real endearing and doesn't give the greatest interview.  Boohoo, that's not his job; his job is to win baseball games and he does it pretty damn well.

Maybe because people don't like people who behind the wheel so loaded they fall asleep at a stop light. Great "manager", after his DUI, an employee plows into a construction zone & thankfully "only" killed himself.   TLR is a POS.

That's being very unfair.  Larussa had a BAC of .09 when he was pulled over.  It was barely over the legal limit.  I'm sure no one here has ever had 2-3 drinks with dinner and then drove home.

Also, I don't see how TLR is responsible for what one of his players does after they leave the stadium.

There are also a lot of people in St. Louis who don't like him because he's never been a 'St. Louis' guy in that he doesn't live here in the offseason.  I never got that.  A lot of people rightfully get annoyed with all the lineup changes and constant pitcher changing, but to me it doesn't matter as long as the Cards win.

Agreed. He is not responsible for his player going out and having too many drinks at a bar that was loading him up and let him leave.

The micro-managing gets old after a while, but I am with you, if it means getting those TLR early season wins and then carrying it through to the playoffs... i dont care. So what if he never got on the STL bandwagon (which many players do when they come to STL), he is still our manager and he is doing (nad has been doing) a great job. I only hope he will stay our manager for years to come. I cant see any other guy managing our team, or even any other pitching coach. I dont really have much faith in Moziliak (sp?) yet, but I hope he and TLR can get a relationship going that will last.

That kind of stupid parochial-ness is one reason why St. Louis sucks.  He clearly didn't go to the right high school, and doesn't live out in the exurbs, so he couldn't possibly be fit for living in St. Louis.  As for the P-D, that paper is actually worse than the J-D which sets the bar pretty low all on its own.
