MU's Wesley Matthews To Participate In Final Four Dunk Contest

Marquette University senior guard Wesley Matthews (Madison, Wis.) has been selected to compete in the 21st Annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships this week at the Final Four in Detroit, Mich.

Matthews, one of eight participants in the Vegas.com Dunk Contest, will compete Thursday, April 2 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The contests begin at 6:30 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN later that evening (8 p.m. CT). Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com.

The competitive field includes UW-Green Bay's Terry Evans and Jeremy Pargo of Gonzaga.

Celebrity judges include Cheryl Ford, Desmond Howard, Calvin Johnson, Braylon Edwards and Jalen Rose.
