I think the Big 10 has been overrated by many experts and have most of them losing in the first round.  But in filling out my pool, I can make a case for both Purdue and MSU making a run, both to the final 4.

Anyone else see it?  Can Purdue beat UConn?

No.  They cannot beat UConn.  Both are solid teams that can make life difficult.  I can see both in the Sweet 16 and tough outs in that round.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Purdue.  Now that they are healthy, they are the best team coming out of the Big Ten and deserved better than their 5 seed.  Before Robbie Hummel and Chris Kramer went down, they played Oklahoma tough.  lost in OT.  Don't know if they can get by UConn.

I would like MU's chances for a deep run if they had the likes of a JuJuan Johnson at the 5.

I married a Purdue grad, so I've adopted them as my 2nd team.  JuJuan Johnson has the chance to be an All-American his senior year, and would be the missing link for this MU team.

Look, anybody can beat anybody, on any given day.  To simply dismiss this question and say there's no way the Boilers can upset UCONN is flat out moronic.

If Hummel continues to get healthy and continues to hit from outside, they can be successful.  With all 3 of Purdue's big men (Johnson, Hummel, Caltheson) able to hit the long range jumper, they'll be able to pull Thabeet away from the hoop.  Moore was great in the Big Ten tourney, and Kramer is arguably one of the toughest players in the country.

UCONN definitely gets the nod in this one, but don't sleep on the Boilermakers.
