when did we learn the end line rule again?

wasnt it like 4th grade or something
well lazar its ok you still have next year to make it up
you did not cost us the whole game.

Oh yeah, Lazar must have forgot about that rule. Great point. Jeez, get over it. Mistakes like that happen. Guys get called for travels, carries, they make bad passes. This is all basic stuff, but it happens in every game by every team at all levels. It sucks, but stuff like that happens.

krocheck

It is not the reason we lost the game ... I'm over it.

mubball2009

completely agree. the chance of going full court in 5.5 seconds has to be 30 percent tops. we led by 4 with 100 seconds left, we should never have been down 2 with 5 seconds left. lazar should be applauded for keeping us in the game the 1st half.

Daniel

Why bash an individual player?  This was a team effort, and a great one.  We fell short.  We missed a couple of great opportunities at the end.  That's it.  Game over.  Literally.

Markusquette

In all reality it's kind of a dumb rule anyway.  He steps less than an inch over the line and we lose possession.  Yeah, it's a rule but it really doesn't effect who or how he is going to pass someone.  It's not like it gives teams an advantage.  Too bad it's not like stepping blatantly off the line, but rules are rules.  Can't blame Lazar, stuff happens.

g0lden3agle

Man, I'm glad you were able to find the ONE play that caused us to definitively lose the game.  Has ESPN contacted you for post game analysis yet?

You are wrong. 5.5 seconds is plenty of time to get the ball up the court and a shot off. Teams have done that with half as much time. That was a huge turnover.

Warriors4ever

Yes, it was huge, but it was a mistake just like a travel would be, or calling a timeout when you don't have one, or throwing the ball back to a player who wasn't yet in-bounds.  It happened.  We should have made a couple more field goals in the first half.  We didn't.  We wouldn't have even been in that position without Lazar.  Sad, but not angry at him.

Jackson_Downer

Agreed.  As awful as they play was, they had to overcome a lot to even get themselves in that position.  Maybe if they make a few of those no footers and it wouldn't matter.  I won't hold it against Lazar but I do hopes it sticks in his mind and he plays that much better next season because of it.
"Nice helmet!"
"Actually, it's not a helmet, it's a hairmet.  You see, it's got extra room in it so you don't mess up your hairdo."
"I'm going to write you a prescription for two testicles, you get it filled whenever."

We were up 78-74 with 1:59 to play, then got outscored 9-1 the rest of the way. Rather than saying we blew it, or blaming the loss on one particular mistake, I think Missouri just did a better job over the last two minutes. I found the manner in which we lost the Villanova game far more upsetting, even though it wasn't nearly as important as yesterday. We definitely gave that one away.

Murphysguy

You do realize we aren't even playing that game if we don't have Lazar Hayward right?

StillAWarrior

I really felt bad for Lazar (and still do).  This morning on Mike & Mike, Golic commented that he typically doesn't understand the whole "I felt bad for that player" thing, but even he felt bad for Lazar.  He didn't lose that game.  I can't recall the last time I saw a team miss so many short shots and layups.  That's why we lost, not Lazar's mistake at the end.

Reminds me of when Ty Baldwin stepped on the mid-court line at the end of a Wisconsin game at the Bradley Center.  I remember he was really bummed out about it.

Chin up Lazar.  Use this to motivate you next year.  Thanks for the great season.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

Buzz was saying that the postion of the standard, required you to move closer to the endline, but in the heat of the game, and running down the endline to inbound the ball, you had to make the adjustment and it made him go to far - still, a mistake that could be avoided, but an explanation nonetheless.

Trust me, he will never make that mistake again.....   That being said, it's in the past, hopefully he is not beating himself up over it -  move on and let's focus on next season.
