its not just the wisky its the whole B11,  it's like YMCA ball a bunch of big slow unathletic white guys

jficke13

little eleven bball has been awful for years... anyone remember uw's trip to the final four that resulted in a captivating game of 40 pt scoring? possibly the only final four trip that hurt recruiting. what stud players want to go to a school where scoring 10 pts a game is 20% of the offense?

I like to think that we were the early cause of their demise.

Some folks here were trying to paint it as if Wisconsin was some juggernaut this year.  They aren't.  That's all.  I was curious if those people still felt that way.

It's a good win, not a great win as so many were trying to portray it.   They just aren't that good.  DKC also is correct in saying the Big Ten is finally decent this year, the first time in about a 6 or 7 years.  Finally they have some competition to play against, though losing to Iowa is inexcusable, especially with their best player not even playing.

Some folks here were also trying to paint it as if the Wisconsin win was the "equivalent" of a loss.  Some also said that the team would "under achieve" all season and, "continue to disappoint," but I don't see you asking those people if they still feel that way.  If you really don't have an agenda, then why do all your simple questions seem to focus on this team or Buzz not being as good as some people think they are?  Why don't we just enjoy our success so far this season.  Buzz will ultimately be judged on more than this year and this team may not end up in the top 10 come March but so far, Buzz and this team have exceeded most expectations.

So since this thread was about how Wisconsin is not as good as last year and hint hint maybe our win against them was not as great, should we start a West Virginia thread that says maybe they are better than we thought, hint hint, our win against them looks impressive?

Wisky is a good team and that win is a good win.  West Virginia is a good team and that win is a good win.  And if we beat Georgetown, Georgetown would be a good win and regardless of what happened last night, Georgetown is a good team.  Lots of parity this year and any win is a good win.

+1.  And even if they were winless, a victory over your in-state rival is always a great win.

Wisconsin's problems this year basically boil down to them missing Butch and Flowers.  Butch gave you match up problems because he could work both inside and out.  Flowers was a very smart guard...very good defensively.

Hughes is a turnover machine and their front court is in serious need of an athletic, Maymonesque type player.  I don't know much about their incoming freshmen next year, but I am not sure they are going to have anything to fill that type of need.  Their freshman pg who hit the long three pointer is going to be a real nice player for them though.

Too late, immediately after we beat NOVA and WV lots of people immediately pointed to the fact that after 3-4 into the BE season neither of those "worse than normal" teams had a winning record..
