Anybody following the Crean thread on Dodds' board?

Is Marquette84 actually Joanie Crean or a member of the Harbaugh family? Seriously! What purpose does it serve to defend this guy to that excrutiating level on Marquette boards? It makes no sense. I honestly don't know ANYBODY who liked that guy...sure some of his results were great...but to defend at the level of Marquette84, and with some of the "inside" information...it's just got to be a relative.

And if so, can we ask Marquette84 to go the way of the tan one? Don't let the door hit ya, where the good Lord split ya!

I thought the same thing.  Sorry I can't remember what CDS means in this instance.    I suspect it is the opposite of Creanis envy!

That thread started out about Crean's belief that IU had self-imposed adequate penalties.  It then went on for some length about the penalty process, and IU's role and responsibilities.  Then it was hi-jacked into a Crean hate issue.

Boy, it seems like I have seen another Marquette-related board where that has often happened.  Now, what is the name of that board?  MUHoop?  No.  MULoop?  No.  Oh well, something like that.

As for Marquette84 on the Scout board, that guy knows his facts and stuck with the point regarding penalties for IU and their compliance and self-reporting. 

I joined the discussion mid-way, and supported Marquette84 with my info -- primarily against ValiantSailor who seems to have a LOT of time on his hands; and who continually repeated wrong, unsupported claims to try to prop up his redundant arguments.  Finally, I had enough and moved on.  At least I got to use the line I told Chico's I would steal -- "You are entitled to your opinion, but you are not entitled to your facts."

I'm not sure what purpose it serves defending Crean when so many still feel a personal hatred for him. However, I'm also not sure there is purpose of creating an entire thread pointing out whether there is a purpose to it or not.

Contrary to someone's belief, maybe we all don't lead a purpose driven life.

I hate Crean as much as the next guy but in all fairness he did help return Marquette to the map.  He helped get us to the Big East.  The AL might not have been here if it wasn't for him.  He also left us with a pretty special team for this season.

Is Crean an ass?  Yes.  Did he leave in a douchebag manner?  Yes.  But did he do a lot for this university?  Yes.

Hate Crean all you want but don't sell him short on what he did for the university,

I think asking the question "what is the purpose" of anyone wasting time by posting anonymously about a game involving putting a ball through a metal hoop is going to have a hard time getting a good answer.
