Quote from: MU82 on November 06, 2025, 12:07:41 PMHey, it's been a whole year for the Seahawks!

I get into the teams I like. When I moved to Charlotte, I jumped into Panther fandom right away - even though they were awful. But it's not like I grew up a Panthers fan, so it made no sense for me to continue rooting bigly for them after moving 3,000 miles away to Seattle.

Every fan of every team has a time that he or she starts being a fan of that team.

So you're just a sports slut.

KINDA GROSS MAN.

Not universally true - I like the Kraken.

Hawks - personally, can never like after the 2014 NFC Championship game and the following "Fail Mary" game. Way, way over-hyped locally (far more than any other NFL market I have witnessed).

Mariners - They are ok, unless playing the Brewers.

Sonics - I feel the pain of the city losing the team.

I get it though. Sports fandom starts somewhere. I randomly picked Fulham because they had some US based players. More I watched the more I cared and now I'd never pick another club.

I'd still rather the Panthers win than lose. But one of the fun things about following a team when you live in the town is that its success or failure is reflected in the town's mood. That's especially true of the NFL, though Seattle definitely caught Mariners fever this fall. It was fun to be here and witness it, especially after going without MLB for 14 years.

I just think in general that no one should find joy in sports

Seattle went without MlB for almost 20 years in the 2000's
