During the game, the TV announcers they said the last MU triple double was Dwyane Wade in 2003.  And another poster said there has only been three in MU history.
Can someone list the other Mu triple doubles: Player, Opponent, Year, W or L?
Thank you.

The other one besides Wade and Kam, was Tony Miller against UW sometime in the mid 90s when they played on NYE.

The three MU triple-doubles have come against the #1, #6, and #19th ranked teams.  No cupcakes.

I was floored to hear that stat about the last time being 2003 for a triple double.

In 21 years, we've had great players who handed out high levels of assists, and were double-digit scorers.  Diener, Dom James, Jerel, Markus, Kolek.

Surprised none of them hit the trifecta at some point.

Triple doubles just aren't that common in college basketball. The games are shorter and the shooting is worse.

Agreed topper. Was talking with someone about who I would have thought would have had a triple double since Wade and my top three were Jerel while Dom was hurt, TK, Dom.

TallTitan34

Jerel was on the Field of 68 last night and noted a couple times he finished a rebound or two shy of it.  Kolek missed one by a single rebound.

Kam had the rebounds locked up before everything else.

But how many Marquette triple doubles have there been in the history of Marquette basketball?

TallTitan34

Looking back at the MU season stats, 1967-68 was the first season Marquette tracked assists.

It's possible sophomore George Thompson or someone else has had one before that time.

TallTitan34

Looking online it appears the NCAA didn't track assists until the 1983-84 season.

Jim Chones would have had dozens of them

This is what I meant with my "But how many Marquette triple doubles have there been?" comment.

Did Kam have 10 deflections last night?  Because if not, I do not recognize last night as a triple double for Kam.

Maybe we should start calling him Kam Chones.

From Yahoo Sports:

Tuesday triple-doubles: Russell Westbrook (12-10-14) became the first NBA player with 200 triple-doubles; Marquette's Kam Jones (17-13-10) did it all for the Golden Eagles in an upset win over No. 6 Purdue. Get to know the name.

Interesting that all triple doubles came against top 20 teams. So, no easy sisters of the poor ones there.

Love the publicity for Kam ... but it wasn't an upset win, Yahoo. We were at home, and 5.5-point favorites.

Bad stat. Josh Gasser had a triple double. Yuck

It is definitely an over-hyped stat. Most of us would prefer a player go 28-5-6 than 10-11-10. It was funny listening to Benetti and Raftery rooting for the assist.

His 24-25 block % is at a career high, this is the only stat that matters.

My guess was Sam Worthen. Big guard who scored and handed out a lot of assists.
