Disagree.  The tourney brings out different levels of emotions and how the body physically reacts to to those emotions.  MUs poor shooting was a result of this.

This is true. Another thing that is true, is that how ones body physically reacts to these scenarios is kind of innate. Not much coaching is going to do to change those natural reactions.

TK almost always shines in those kind of moments.
Mitchell responds with energy.

But others will sometimes tighten up. Adrenaline goes up, vision begins to "tunnel," and muscles become more rigid. The more things go the other way, the higher the adrenaline and the more your body negatively reacts.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Okay,.  'm not saying emotions didn't play a role.  What do you suggest we do about this?   Do we need a sports psychologist on the payroll?   I'll do it for free.  :)

"We" can't do anything.  But there was a stark contrast to how NC State played - almost with a mindset of "this is what we do".  They were calm, executed, and played with a deliberate pace.

Marquette - as Shaka preaches - played with excess energy.  It nearly led to a comeback in the final 10.   Alas, we take the good with the bad.

MU played with a 'we make.lay ups and 3s' attitude.  And then missed lay ups and 3s.

The worst thing is these guys who give everything for Marquette are hurting more than any of us can fathom. They know what was in front of them and slipped away.

It's different from a team of mercenaries brought in with huge NIL promises. The guys care.

This just sucks.
.

Slipped away. Veteran teams don't lose their poise and shoot 4/31 from 3. A very nice well connected to each other group of great representatives of MU, but not a championship team.

We got this to look forward to - scoring in the 50's a game may be wishful thinking next year

                            PTS
David Joplin F            11
Stevie Mitchell G    8.8
Chase Ross G            6.3
Sean Jones G            5.8
Ben Gold F            5.1
Tre Norman G            2
Zaide Lowery G            1.6
Al Amadou F            1.2

                            41.8

I'm still wondering how we'll score without Darryl Morsell and Justin Lewis.

As long as we hold the opponents to 40 points.

Where's Kam?  He's absolutely coming back.

tower912

Someone else will step up.   Someone  always does.  I can see Kam in the high teens/low twenties.  Mitchell getting to 14 and change. Joplin to 15.   Ben to 12.
Kam, Stevie, Chase, Ben, Joplin is a top 25 starting line up.  Do you remember @ Creighton?   In it on the road for 36 minutes with no bench?   Foreshadowing the potential.

The determining factor for next season will be how fast and how well 6-9 in the rotation develop.

Unless there are wholesale departures.    Then all bets are off.

Hopefully we get Sean back and we have some pleasant surprises from the freshmen.

Tre and Zaide making leaps gives MU more versatility than does Sean.

I have faith in Shaka and fully expect us to stay in the top half of the BE.
Top half of BEast is not what COLE should want. Top 2 should be the expectation
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

No. Top 2 is for COHE.

To Tower,
    Think Kam 18
Mitchell 10 at best.  Some games more
             Joplin 10
Ben 9 if he doesn't foul out.
Have to hope others contribute about 25-30.

When does Jop lead the Big East in scoring as previously billed?
