Raquel Welch, the voluptuous movie actress who became the 1960s' first major American sex symbol and maintained that image in a show business career that lasted a half-century, died on Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 82.

Her heyday was the late 60's, so I suppose most boomers were moving into adulthood and becoming the model citizens no generation has since matched

Baby boomers are anyone born from 1946 to 1964.

I'd say the "generation assignment" was spot on

She was born before that...that's like saying you Millennials were buttering your corn to Farrah Fawcett posters in your dorm room.

Raquel was too old to me.  I don't know why, but even when I was old enough to know what hot was, she seemed too old.  Odd, I know.   But she WAS 26 when I was born, so my teen years were her 40's.

Saw her interviewed  many times, a very bright and intelligent woman.

Could have been full of herself but wasn't.

Was drop dead gorgeous. Was number 1 all time for me.

Unfortunately, never did a full nude pictorial for Playboy  and any nude scenes in movies though.

My mom's best friend in the early 70s was a dead ringer for Raquel Welch. So much so that  one time when my dad pointed to a poster of Raquel and said, "That's Mrs. Slagle", I believed him.
Have some patience, FFS.

Agree. My no 1 also

Although I heard Raquel Welch was a menace and did not move her arms when she walked:

In the future when you tell this story, probably a good idea to keep the last sentence to yourself.

Maybe some of the appeal.  Keeping the present wrapped.
