There is only one coach that Marquette has a reasonable chance of hiring that you could say with a straight face could win a Championship in the next 5 to 10 years.  That is Rick Pitino.  All the other coaching candidates will simply lead to more of the same; mediocre results with the occasional sweet 16 run.

Well, if Marquette wanted to make a huge hire Rick would be it. This would be his last stop. I never thought Wojo would get the heave ho so who knows. Personal life aside, the dude can flat out coach. My guess is he would retain most of the players. What kid would not want to play for a legend. Sure would be interesting.

Pitino, in response to rumors he would take another big-time coaching job, recently said something to the effect of:

        I plan on finishing my career coaching at a small, Catholic college. 

I mean we aren't large, are we?
