My god how many awards are going to be shared?  Just give everyone each of these awards at this point.

Mamu as POY is sure something.

I expected Posh to win, but Garcia was more efficient on a higher usage in more minutes with better counting numbers. But just like Howard and Powell last year, give the award to the inferior player in the NYC media market.

Might as well add two more POY awards and give it to the entire first team.

At least Posh wasn't historically bad like Powell was.

Don’t the coaches vote for these?

Correct.

That’s what I thought. Blaming the NY media market when the coaches are the ones voting seems off base.

Which is probably why so many ties.  It is easy to envision three players getting 3 votes each for POY, for example.

The last month of the season for Alexander was marred by injury and he was ineffectual when he played. But it didn't matter much because from January 25-February 6 he was getting arguably the highest media imprint of any conference player until Bouknight this last week of the season.

It's not that far off base to suggest that minds were made up a month ago thanks to the outsized attention received. Contrary to the press conference talking point, coaches are voracious consumers of what the media reports to the slightest degree it affects their program.

Wouldn't be surprising if the Gillespie injury swung a vote or two splitting the Nova guys and letting Mamu sneak in for a share.

Do we really think the head coaches (or even well paid assistants) are sending these votes in?  I'd guess that the SIDs or something are.

Dawson wuz robbed.

If the Big East coaches didn't all hate Wojo, Dawson would have been a unanimous choice.

Glad work has slowed down enough for you to show up here again.  Coming from a guy who asks people to put up or shut up and then goes into hiding because they put up, I'll take this as a compliment.

It was just very predictable that you'd go into hiding.  Glad to have you back.  Stressful time at work for you I'd bet.
