bo did for milwaukee/summerfest what many others have tried and failed in other major cities.   summerfest went from a bunch of tents that would inevitably get blown over during first storm every year, then turn the grounds into a mud pit.  look at it now.  she persevered and got it done.  i worked at summerfest for many years during my time at MU.
met and worked some great and influential people- rondel sheridan, saz, eddie butts, david clarke, and my lovely bride of 36 years!

I think Summerfest has been blessed to have two really strong executive directors at just the right time.  Bo Black, who did a great job building and promoting it, and Don Smiley who I think has done a great job monetizing it in an era with a ton of competition.  My anecdotal experience is that the crowds are smaller, but slightly older and likely spending more money.
