My mom saw on the news that firework sales were up 246% this year.

Been going nonstop for the last 90 minutes or so with no sign of letting up. Fortunately my dog no longer seems to care.

I imagine it was like this for every city .. MKE sounded like a war zone from 9pm-11pm.   Never heard anything like that.

Ditto for my suburban Connecticut neighborhood.  Loudest by far in my 22 years here.

I heard this morning that general civilian sales were up 300%, which makes sense with so many of the larger shows cancelled. We heard them in every direction from our house and even though we didn't use any, found 3 spent shells on our deck when we got home. Glad they were all out by the time they hit the ground.

From the noise last night .. 300% seems low .. It wasn't triple the noise .. it was 10x the noise, easy.

I guess I should count myself lucky.

Our former neighbors (3 or 4 houses down) had a teenage son who every year amassed an arsenal of fireworks that would make Kim Jung Un proud. They moved. We had a lot more 'background' fireworks around the neighborhood this year, but with them gone, it still seemed pretty quiet.

Scoop has more guys who can't wait to yell at kids to get off of their lawns than I thought.

As long as people are done at a reasonable hour, I'm fine with it.
