Herman Cain

Wes one of my all time favorites. Defined the modern era of MU.

He was a lot of fun to watch in college, but I think I've enjoyed his pro career even more. He really blossomed in his senior year and then took off from there. One of the best to put on the MU jersey.

Elonsmusk

That was great. Thanks for posting.

I hope when his playing days are over, he'll come back in some capacity in the future. Awesome ambassador for the program.

Love this.  Undoubtedly an all time MU great.

One of my all time favorites...thank you for sharing
"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me." Al McGuire

Wes sat at courtside with Giannis tonight.  Two impressive individuals on and off the court.  So glad the Bucks picked Steve for a season, and then followed it up with Wes!

Pretty amazing that 12 years later, 3 players from that great 2008 NCAA tourney game are still in the NBA, all on the same team. And that team has won 36 out of 42 games.

That game was a heartbreaker. Loved Wes saying he would like to play that game again.

We have a great season and how does the NCAA reward us-- by making us play a team with two 7' twins. Two really good 7" twins.

Shooter McGavin

Have to like the culture and family atmosphere Wojo is cultivating since being at MU.  Not saying other coaches wouldn't do the same but it's great to hear that he embraces our history so much.  The former players really seem to respect him for that.

Wes Mathews is a class act.  His recruiting class really ensured a smooth transition to the Big East.  I really think that without them it could have been a prolonged initiation in the bottom half of that league.

Watching Wes's press conference made  me really nostalgic for that era of the triplets and into the Buzz years. Loved that era and how tough they were. That is not intended as a knock on recent teams at all. His comments about how those guys worked and pushed each other before everyone was posting workouts etc. got me going. They were Warriors. So unfortunate Lopez beat them on a mind boggling shot their jr year (although preventing post passes would have been nice) and Nic broke his foot sr year. They were a legit possible final 4 team that year if he was healthy. Either way, I respect the hell out of the way they played and their mentality. It set the tone for the success in the Buzz years and that physical and me two toughness defined the program. It was cool to see how much Wes values those times, the relationships and his Marquette background.

If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Wes is one of my all time favorites, first of all he spurned badgers which automatically puts him near the top. We had Wes speak at my kids athletic banquet at the end of his senior year. He did a dunk demonstration and was awesome with the kids. At the end he was doing half court shots with the kids until the very end as we were cleaning up.

Hey 15 years ago when I saved those that was premium content haha.  But yes, it's a tough watch these days.  Also, I'm convinced Twitter further reduces the quality when I upload anything.

Also the spirit shop is selling the Wes bobbleheads for those of you not at the game.
