Topper, use your god-like moderator powers to move all of the off-topic stuff to a new thread in the Superbar, and let the usual suspects go at it until it needs to be locked -- probably another couple of days.

But save this thread so it can be necroed next October 12.  And the October 12 after that...

But one could argue that justice is giving people from disadvantaged backgrounds breaks on all sorts of things.  "Affirmative Action" in its initial form, was an attempt to do that.  Its formulaic approach meant that it wasn't really going to meet the goals above, but I am perfectly OK with an ethnic minority with financial need but a worse academic record being admitted to a college ahead of one of my children.  My children have plenty of choices and will live a good life regardless.

My kids aren't losers - at least I don't think they are.  However they aren't perfect and have parents who think adversity isn't that big of a deal.

And as for me losing my mind, at least I'm not the guy who tells the same jokes and uses the same schtick going on a decade now, and doesn't have the self-realization to figure out that it stopped being funny nine and a half years ago.

Jesus. Threads like this honestly make me leave MUScoop for long stretches. It's like clockwork that some people just can't stop pissing and moaning about this change. Do I like it? No. But it's not going to change, and it just makes this board seem perpetually stuck in the past to every year mark the anniversary of the change.
