I drew a blank with Houston Baptist, so I'll start with Chicago State in continuing a loose MUScoop tradition of naming our opponent's famous alumni.  You can check out and/or add to Marquette's famous alumni here.

Dropped out, hence the title of his debut album, The College Dropout

Colin Montgomerie...yes *that* Colin Montgomerie...attended Houston Baptist.

I didn't think there would be any truly famous alumni from Chicago State, but in 2008 there are few musical artists bigger than Kanye West. I think his mom was a professor there.

And Styx isn't too shabby either. I'm impressed.

I found this list on ranker.com.

What's the bigger joke: calling Gerald Ford an alumnus because he got an honorary degree for being a commencement speaker, or once you decide to call him an alum, ranking him second behind Kanye West?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Did Styx make up 75% of the white student population there?

Well, unlike Kanye, he is burdened with the academic deficiencies of a Michigan degree...

i understand that it's a pretty good school, but they haven't turned out anyone or anymore "influential" people?  i love styx.  dennis deyoung et.al. are brilliant musicians. 1st real concert i saw-burlington high school in 8th grade.  just saw dennis deyoung a few years ago at festa-he looks and sounds great yet.  kanye?  not sure i would be so proud to put him at top.

Chicago State as an educational institution is circling the drain.  In the fall of 2016 they enrolled 86 freshman - that is not a typo.  They did a little better this fall, enrolling 149.

Then again, their acceptance rate is 30% so it must be a much better school than Marquette.
Have some patience, FFS.

Yeah, they should probably just be merged into Northeastern Illinois, which is actually doing fairly decent enrollment wise and grad rate wise.  Interestingly NEIU has seen this growth and does not participate in intercollegiate athletics at any level.

Wow.  Assuming you're correct -- and I have no reason to doubt you as you seem very plugged in to these issues -- I thought it would be interesting to look to see how many of those were athletes.  According to their rosters from last year, 34 of those freshman were athletes (including 12 on women's soccer).

To be fair, Chicago State has oftentimes targeted JUCO transfers more than traditional high school students.  The year it had 85 freshmen, it had 200+ two-year transfers.  That being said, enrollment is still f*cked.

Yep, 86 freshman out of 3100 total enrollment. Those folks are taking a long time to graduate - if at all.  Their graduation rate is 11%.  Explain to me again why the acceptance rate is such an important metric?

MU's new policy of recruiting their students is working well.
