Marquette Kitchen & Tap
« on: April 09, 2017, 11:47:20 AM »
For those in the Chicago western burbs, there is a tiny bar/restaurant that opened last fall, apparently, called Marquette Kitchen & Tap in Lombard.

Heard about it a couple of weeks ago and went for the first time last night -- pretty darn good food.
Three of the four owners are MU grads, I was told by our waitress. Really small space, and no MU decor, but nice atmosphere and beer selection.

Pint glasses with cool logo are not yet for sale, but if they are not soon, ol' Barf may do something not done since his MU days and accidentally walk out with a pair.

This is a classy place.   There are wood prints of Father Marquette and of Chicago at the time Father Marquette was there. It's fine with me if they don't fill it up with pictures of the Chicken.

Here is their website

And I have had their chili.  It's not Real Chili; they decided to go in a different direction and make theirs out of cubed bacon instead of beef.  It's good.

The menu says "bacon". That's all I know. X

It's been open over a year, at least.  We've gone once or twice to watch hoops. I remember them having a great selection of quality beer and good food.

Edit: When one can get Lakefront Fixed Gear on tap it's a very good day in the western burbs.
