In the scrimage he hit all three of his three point shots and they were from different spots on the floor. Maybe he was covered better after that, but after that quick start he did not shoot any more threes. He did make a nice two point basket, so he had 11 points, and he may of taken only four shots. I did not notice him making any mistakes, but he certainly could have. Freshmen can be inconsistent, but in some games he is going to be a nightmere for the other team.

So, Sam might meet or exceed expectations

The thing about a kid like Hauser is he doesn't force things. He makes all the right plays and he does everything fundamentally. The game comes easier for him and the adjustment as a result will be easier than for other kids. I don't know that he'll be a huge scorer or play 25 minutes a game, but he'll play a valuable role, even if it's not on the stat sheet.

I was not at the practice, but recent pictures show Sam taller.  Is he 6'8"?  Did he look tall in the practice?

We only have two players taller than him, so the answer is yes.

They've only been under 12 turnovers once in the last 30 years.  That was 2009-2010 with 10.4 with a pretty experienced lineup.

Taller than I expected, but not 6'8" - looked more 6'6.5" to 6'7" - very solid, athletic kid.

...and that was good for the seventh best turnover rate in the nation

Aim high, fellas!

Don't some of you think that this team should hit at least 80% of their free throws?  That would make MU the best free throw shooting team in the country.  Why is this any different?
Have some patience, FFS.

It'd be nice to be #1 in the country in something (not turnovers, missed FGs or player minutes lost to injury, thank you very much).

Because it seems weird to set a goal that, outside of using Bo Ryan's offense, is essentially impossible to hit.

I don't mind so much setting a goal that seems out of reach. "Zero deaths on Wisconsin roads" is an impossible goal — but that is ultimately the goal of all driver education and safety measures. You can still measure progress toward it, even if you never get there.

I bet you this next year we will be the highest ranked team (RPI, Kenpom...whatever) that has the school name beneath their number of the front of its jerseys.

Also lowest ranked?
