Retiring 11 is still the stupidest reason to retire a number I think I've ever heard of.

The Timberwolves retired Malik Sealy's number because he was killed by a drunk driver.  He only averaged about 10 ppg in his two seasons with the team.

The Denver Broncos retired Frank Tripucka's number because he was the team's first even starting QB.  They didn't seem to be bothered by his stats - like 51 TDs and 85 INTs.

And the Miami Heat retired Michael Jordan's number...even though he never played for the team.

There are plenty of head-scratchers out there....
