You know, I've noticed that since the politics board opened, there's been a lot more animosity and negativity on the Hanging at the Al board between posters. I've never once clicked on the politics board but I wonder if feelings from that board are spilling over into this on.

I think you are onto something here.

Grambling is a cupcake. . Cannot compare any MU  players stats.

I think time has eroded your memory of the depth of crazy we experienced.  Continuously.  On every thread.  On every topic.  If you really miss that go to the Scout board and remind yourself what you are asking for.

I take it this is the wrong time to mention how Marotta reminds me of myself in high school?

Two years ago, when we last played Grambling, we witnessed the emergence of Magic Dawson.

I predict the Lebron Anim era starts tonight!!!!

Maybe we got Dr. JJJ

Even if not animosity, I've have noticed that people continue to poke and prod here based on discussions there - apparently forgetting that we're all here to (mostly) talk about MU basketball.

So, if the poly board were to go away, it'd be for that reason - to keep people here focused on their basketball fandom.

I play regularly in a poker group, and politics, religion, and insurance are the only topics banned.  Because if you avoid those, you can all stay friends.

You also think Henry Ellenson will be and needs to be at Marquette for 4 years.  So...

???? What are you talking about?

wrong guy.

For the record, I would love to get two years, but believe that we will only see only from HE.

I hope that isn't the case.  I'll get into it with Lenny, Chicos, Heisenburg and Rocket over there, but I still respect all of them.  I hope others can see through differences (in politics) the same way.

That said.  I come to this board for basketball, thats a passion, politics is just a hobby.

Why ban that one? That seems like an innocuous topic. The only tough one I could see is if someone in your group is a salesman. A lot of people fall victim to the insurance salesmen purporting to be financial advisors, sticking your investments into high-fee vehicles.

LloydsLegs

I would note that, as a positive, since the Politics Board opened up (ok, and since Ners left), we have had many fewer locked threads here.

IMO that's not due to thread content, it's due to having chill moderators.

People get angry about insurance.  Everyone might agree about it, but still no need to raise the blood pressure.

I am 3rd generation with USAA. When I get a cold call for insurance I tell them I am with USAA and they surrender immediately. Insurance doesn't need to be like going to the dentist. USAA proves that daily. Their customer service is magnificent.

I have friends angry about USAA not buying them a new roof (when everyone else in the neighborhood got a new roof).  No insurance company is perfect...

I feel like I arrived After Ners (A.N.) which is a bummer cause it sounds like he was a great time.
Let him back so I can see what he's made of!

I'll help you out here. He's made mostly of bullshyte, topped by a ladle-full of douchebaggery.

When I used to fly a lot for work, if I didn't feel like talking to the person next to me I'd tell him early on that I was an insurance salesman. That bought me hours of peace and quiet!
