Johnnies may be bad but they're 10-15 points better than us.

No they're not. No one seems to factor in that Rutgers is arguably the worst program in a major conference. It was all on Rutgers comically blowing a game then anything St. John's did to win. This game is why there should be draws in basketball.

Not too mention that on Rutgers second to last possession their PG was hit hard from behind with a shoulder roll and then egregiously tripped with no call on either.  They should have been shooting FTs to take the lead with 15 seconds to go.  That was as bad a two seconds of refereeing as you'll ever see.  (Of course, the way they shoot FTs they probably still would have been behind).  If Rutgers had any fans I'm sure they'd be furious.

St Johns is 10-15 points better than us IMO.  They looked well coached, executed a game plan and played good defense.  they also are super young.  Guess what else?  DePaul looks a hell of a lot better than us too for anyone who watched the Penn State game.  They are playing really good defense.  Granted they are more experienced but they also look like their middling talent has been coached up.  Buzz always wanted to establish a defensive identity first before worrying about offense on the theory that players practice offense all the time whether in practice or not.  The "boot camp" helped establish toughness and an identity.  I hope Wojo knows what he is doing and this will be a blip like the Vandy game, the UWGB game and others.  I just don't get a sense from following the team on this board and in the press that Wojo has a strategy to get this team to raise their play.  Telling them to get the ball in the post is one thing during a timeout but is he stressing/counting paint touches in practice?  Is he counting deflections?  Can he actually effectively coach defense (like Leito is doing with DePaul and yes I know they lost but so what- they play tough D and they crush MU on the eye test)?  He was right - he did not have them ready to compete.  that is a little scary.
