Winston announced today that he will visit(in order) Stanford, Pitt, Harvard, MSU, and Michigan. For what it's worth MSU is still at 100% in the crystal ball

I have a friend who played in high school with Winston and is still very close with him. He says there is no way he leaves the state of Michigan and would be shocked if that didn't mean he goes to MSU. Told me he only put Marquette on his list because it "looked cool" to have high majors on his list.... That's an actual quote

Norm

Did Wojo and staff ever really put the effort in reaching out to Winston? Or was he considered pretty much a lock to go to MSU or UM so they focused their efforts elsewhere?

So your friend played for UD Jesuit?

There are lots of good players.   Wojo has already landed his share.    He will land more.

No Wojo tried. I know he was at U of D a few times (also recruiting the 2 bigmen they currently have) and Cassius took an unofficial to MU. I also know that once we got Rowsey (who Wojo loves) we gave up on Cassius and any other point guard for the class. All along MSU has been the favorite, but we definitely tried to steal him.

We'll be fine next year with Rowsey and Traci.
Bring back FFP!!!

Well, if a man wants to cheapen himself with the stench of second tier that's his choice....

Go Green!    Seriously, even the most ardent UM fans would never call MSU basketball 'second tier'.   Would loathe them, despise them, curse them, but never call them 'second tier'.

Good stuff.  I always felt that Wojo saw the writing on the wall and once he knew it would almost impossible, if not totally impossible, to land Winston he focused on Rowsey and 2017 PGs.

If Amir Coffey's Dad is correct about Amir's best position being point guard, then Wojo may be pretty close to having that 2016 PG spot filled.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Well, I hope Rowsey is the real deal then.

So, keefe isn't an ardent UM fan?  I smell a Haiku coming.

All very good schools academically. I know he is slated for MSU, but it would not surprise me to see Stanford and Harvard pick him up.

Tens of thousands of University of Michigan, Stanford and Harvard alum just went "uuuggghhhh" while shaking their head's in disbelief and have no idea why.

MSU is a good school but it isn't in the same conversation as the others.
