Hey Mark. Loved reading you in your Club trillion days, and I always make sure to read your CBB coverage on Grantland.

Are there any stories from your Club Trillion days that you couldn't tell us then, but are able to tell us now?


There was one story and only one story that got cut from the first draft of the book. I won't name names, but it involved a black teammate who wanted me to pee for him because he had already failed a drug test earlier in the year (because of weed) and another failed test meant he'd have to miss some games. I wasn't comfortable getting involved in that but I also didn't want to look like a bitch, so I told him the first thing that came to mind: "I can't pee for you. I'm white and you're black. They'll be able to tell right away that it wasn't from you." He said, "Damn, good point" and left me alone after that.
