First Big East Tournament win since March 9, 2011 vs. West Virginia.  If anything, that monkey is off the back.

First winning streak since December.  First Big East winning streak since last February.  Yeah, it's DePaul and Seton Hall, but it's something.

Raff, Donny Marshall, Gus and KO all in one place.  We need to get back to winning to avoid drawing the D-team announcers during the season.

Quite the atmosphere on a Wednesday night to see the conference boobs duke it out.  Nice job Val, MSG, and Fox.
Well said, but the D announcers which are really not teams can still be strong on FS1, with guys like Eric Collins and Steven Bardo or Dick Stockton, Brian Anderson,  Bob Wenzel etc.

Loved the effort right from the start.

Maybe it's the E team then.  Whichever one Dickey Simpkins is on  ;)

Your correct on him. I was surprised FS2 matched him with a game with Tim Brando.

I watched the game off the DVR (had to work late  >:(    ), and I don't feel like scanning the game thread to see if someone else made this comment:

My guess is that Ners had to watch the game with the sound off, given the continuous love Raftery was giving Derrick.

I only wish DeWil had scored a few more points so he could have gotten the double-double.
Have some patience, FFS.

Great game today.  Nice way to end the season.
Buckley's chance tomorrow.

Look it up.

My biggest wish for next year is for Luke to get better at corralling passes into the post.

Luke has good hands for a big man, yet seems to take an extra second to gather the pass and go up with it strong.  With an influx of guards (and Henry's foreseen ability to draw double teams), if Luke can shave a tenth of a second off collecting that pass and go up strong with it, will make a huge difference IMO.

Steve struggles in a similar approach, in the sense that his ball fakes actually buys time for his defenders to close the gap and challenge shots.

Loved that Wojo called Derrick a Warrior during the post game interview

One last game.  Should be fun to watch.  Hopefully we execute as well as we did today.

One thing I saw today is that the refs didnt call the tick-tack fouls they usually called on Fischer. Not only was he getting beat up in the post, but they let him play more than they usually do.

All five of our starters played extremely well and SHU was awful.  But SHU was just as bad the last time we played them and we only won by 3.  It's been a long while since we played a solid 40 minutes.  Probably the only bad stretch was the 2 minutes before then end of the first half, and even that was tempered by the lucky 3 from Taylor at the buzzer.

I would have spread the minutes out a little more in a game we controlled from the start when we have another game (and hopefully more to follow) at noon today.  Only 1 minute for Cohen and only 6 for Johnson (and probably 2-3 of those minutes were by necessity after Duane ran into the scorers table).  Very minor quibble, though, in a great performance.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

GGGG

Two teams with a large uphill task in front of them.  One found it too hard and decided to go on vacation.  One decided to go for it and took that first step.

And I don't want to hear any more of the "Wojo lost the team" bullsh*t.  They played hard.  They played together.

I can't watch today's game, and that's probably OK because I would love to have that be my last memory of this season.
