http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/jimmy-butler-named-kia-nba-eastern-conference-player-month

The Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler was today named the Kia NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in October/November.

Butler led Chicago and ranked ninth in the NBA scoring (21.9 ppg) as the Bulls posted an 11-6 mark, good for first place in the Central Division. He topped the 20-point mark 11 times, including two 30-point outings, raising his scoring average more than eight points from last season, when he averaged 13.1 points. Butler shot .498 from the field while posting seven games with double-figure free throw attempts to rank fourth in the NBA in free throw attempts per game (8.8). Butler also led the NBA in minutes (39.3 mpg).

Here is a closer look at the month for Butler

Jimmy Butler, Chicago Bulls
Nov. 13 @ Toronto: Finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists in a 100-93 win over the Raptors.
Nov. 17 @ L.A. Clippers: Scored 22 points and added eight assists and six rebounds in a 105-89 win over the Clippers.
Nov. 30 @ Brooklyn: Shot 11-for-13 from the free throw line on his way to 26 points in a 102-84 win over the Nets.

Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was named Kia NBA Western Conference Player of the Month

Kia Player of the Month sounds like an oxymoron  :P

He turned down the $11M extension, talk now that he's going to be worth a max contract which is over $16M per season.

All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Seriously bad ass. Turned down $10+/year guaranteed because he knew how much he had improved. Takes stones to make that kind of bet on yourself then back it up beyond anyone's expectations.

On another note, MU needs to be more recognized as 2 guard U. We have 3 of the top 10 SGs currently in the NBA in Dwyane, Wes, and Jimmy. Could be argued 3 of the top 5 to 7. That's crazy.

The funny part is, none of those guys (maybe Wade) played the 2 at MU. Jimmy played o the front court, so did Wes and Jae.

Wes played the 3 in a 3 guard offense, so he wasn't really in the frontcourt. Jimmy definitely played in the front court.

Please don't cloud the issue with the facts.   ;)
