Unfortunately I don't think I will ever have the funds for jump around guy tickets. 120 is very reasonable though. Didn't think big boy tickets started that low.

I agree ticketholders bailed after last and that was great for me.  Enough good seats opened up that I moved up to very good seats.

Thank you fickle fans.  Enjoy the 400 section in a few years when they are good again and you want back in.

This.

We had to move to worse seats for the third year in a row. Two under grad degrees, a masters, 11 years of season ticket holder points and a tiny donation this year ... if we're losing Season Ticket holders, they're doing a good job of snapping up the seats I want.

It could also be true that there are people who decided to upgrade who have always had more points than you, but had purchased cheaper seats in prior years.  We have folks sitting around us who undoubtedly have significantly more points than us, including a 40-year season ticket holder and someone who has endowed an athletic scholarship.  If they choose to move to the lower bowl, you are scooting back.
Have some patience, FFS.

Happy to Chitown.  I'm sure I'll miss a few details but this will be close enough.

Of course you know that tickets come in different price levels and, more importantly, different required Blue/Gold donation requirements.  In the Upper Deck, from about the baseline through the entire non-student endzone, no donation is required at all.  Lowest price season ticket is $125 I believe.

Anyway, for EXISTING season ticket holders we go through re-seating every June.  (Used to be ever 2 years. Damn tax law.)  We are assigned a place in the re-seating line based on a number of factors.  MU degree, check.  Consecutive years with season tix, check.  Donations to both Athletics and other MU stuff, check.  You get the idea.  Then when your time comes up, you go online and pick your seats in real time via the computer.  Well, you can't pick your EXACT seats (damn tax law again) but you pick section/row and preference (aisle, middle).  So that's how we renew.  Pay all at once or in monthly installments and the nice envelop arrives in October.

As a NEW season ticket holder, your window opens AFTER we have done re-seating.  Of course you're the bottom of the barrel.  You don't think you can have Jump Around Guy's seats do you?  He's earned 'em.  But there will be plenty available and typically younger alums want to go for something a little lower priced.  I have argued (unofficially) that a new grad ought to buy the $125 seats and then sit with his friends in the student section for a year or so.  Upper deck of course as I know the ushers check over there.

A few minor corrections:
New graduates who were Fanatic ticket holders are given the opportunity to pay the deposit and participate in the re-seating process.  Your points (10 for a degree and nothing else unless you participated in 6th Man Fund) will still put you behind most everyone else, but you'll get a few days jump on when season tickets actually go on sale to the general public.  This probably only means the difference of a row or two, but no reason not to do it.

Secondly, if you choose a section that does not require a B&G donation, you will select your actual seats (not just preferences).  Only the lower bowl and center 3 sections of the upper bowl on each side have a required B&G donations.  I.e. if you go for the $125 end zone sections, you'll pick your exact seats.

We've purposely had 400 level season tickets for over a decade. We enjoy them very much.

Litehouse

Not to turn this into another Blue & Gold thread, but the basic tips for building points:
(1) marry another MU alum
(2) keep your tickets every year, even if you downgrade to the $125 sections
(3) donate at least $100 every year, keep the consecutive years streak
(4) buy women's season tickets, you'll build more points than just donating the money

ChitownSpaceForRent

Appreciate it everyone. I figure even though I probably will be moving back to Chicago after I graduate I figure the $120 are worth the investment. What thats like $7 a game?

I have 21 priority points, sit mid court row K in the 400 level, and I didn't get any better seats this year even though my rank didn't go down. So either some of you are overexagerrating how many season ticket holders left or it somehow doesn't affect me.

ChitownSpaceForRent

On a side note just got my fanatics t-shirt for this year and just realized I am front and center on it. As far as that being my legacy at MU I'll take it.

Agreed about which STHs quit.  I'd guess that the lower bowl attrition rate is 1% .. the upper bowl rate is where they leave .. I would wonder .. a few years ago they added a ton of $99 ticket holders.  One wonders how many have stuck around.

We actually started at $99 (now $125) ticket holders a couple of years before our oldest started at MU.  Moved to 'good' seats about 4 years ago.  Agree with litehouse.  Endzone seats are perfect is you miss a bunch.  Keeps your points up via consecutive requirements and we never minded when we simply decided not to road trip.  It's a great ticket for a new grad or an infrequent attendee.

Stop sharing the secret of the best MU ticket value!  Wife and I have had same seats for 8 years in end zone.

That's where I am too.  I would probably have the funds to upgrade a couple of levels if I stopped visiting the beer garden so frequently during games  ;)

Plus you can usually sneak over to better seats at just about every game except for Bucky.

The endzone near the TapHouse is the best spot (for the money) in the house.  Great lounges with plenty of TVs, great beer selections, and the best bartenders (Dick & Dave) in the business!  Easy access back to your seats so you never miss anything too important.  But don't tell anyone this secret ;)
