Chicos' Buzz Scandal Countdown

I think someone's pedigree and experience means one thing before the job but means zero once they take the job. I'd have loved Shaka & Howland, but am impressed with Wojo after the presser. He has a lot to offer to recruits and players in both their development, the style of play, etc.

We would not have been able to hire a guy of his caliber 6 years ago, much less when we hired TC. Bottom line: the MU program continues to improve.

Will he leave MU? Absolutely. I'm guessing in 7-10 years. And I am betting that our next coach search will result in an even more highly-regarded candidate.

WE ARE MARQUETTE

The jury's out for 5 years.  ;-)

Seriously, the two previous coaches were good stewards of the program.  They both left the program in better shape than when they entered.  Let's see if Wojo can do the same.

KenoshaWarrior

Agreed.  The last two coaches were both fantastic, here is hoping for a third one!

He said all the right things and thanked all the right people. The real test will be recruiting. Saying you are from Duke opens a hell of a lot more doors than saying you are from Marquette. But as of now it appears to be a good hire.

I'm not 100% convinced Buzz left it in better shape when all is said and done.  He had a very nice run for 3 years and he also......

Had he stayed one more year I think you'd be right. I think he got out just in time

Let's just say from what I'm hearing, the department has had to clean up and fix a few things the last few months.  If we all believe some of this started in the last few months.....well....

Take it as you will

Yeah I have no doubts about anything unflattering I hear anyomore given what's come out.  That said I think we're still in better shape today than when he took over. Another year though?

Chicos - Give us some details here, please. In all seriousness, I don't have sources and would love to learn more about it.

Can you share?

Honestly otherwise it really sounds like baseless gossip.

I absolutely believe that Buzz was fired and told to find a new job quickly to save face.

I believe that the admin went out to find a guy that's squeaky clean.

I also believe that Wojo is a great hire and the right man with the right pedigree.

Buzz rubbed me the wrong way the last couple years. I wish him no ill will. He did business as he knew how. He felt he was doing the best for MU and I truly believe that. I just think his squirm factor escalated rather quickly.

Wojo is the guy and I'm proud to have him on board

Like how he tanked this season.

Is that why he didn't play the frosh more?

If so, fk him.
