It has EVERYTHING to do with it sometimes for some kids.

Ditto from those who run from the topic of race...it exists! Deal with it.

It is a factor. They hire Wojo...I'm done.
I agree with you.

Remember to take your name off the "fire Cuonzo" petition.  Only 34,999 of you to go!

Just for the record, I did not sign that, but apparently Elvis Presley and Hitler among others did!

Serious question:  would you guys rather have Martin or Wojo?  I'll hang up and listen.

Question - what if....just what if.....MU did what all of us Howland fans hoped for all along. That is...they identified a number of candidates, spoke to them, then finalized who was "best" and went with that person (or the next one, or the next).

Smart was obviously #1. Then you got nothing definitive since then on who a #2 choice is. So....perhaps...they decided to move on Howland and let Martin save face?

God, I hope so. But I'm not willing to say MU is that smart.

That's my hope, and I'm sticking with it until I see some definitive source that says Howland is out of the mix.

Tums Festival

"Ben"

Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you my friend will see
You've got a friend in me
(You've got a friend in me)

Ben, you're always running here and there
(Here and there)
You feel you're not wanted anywhere
(Anywhere)
If you ever look behind
And don't like what you find
There's something you should know
You've got a place to go
(You've got a place to go)

I used to say "I" and "me"
Now it's "us", now it's "we"
I used to say "I" and "me"
Now it's "us", now it's "we"

Ben, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do
I wish they would try to
I'm sure they'd think again
If they had a friend like Ben

Why in the hell can't they just get Howland already. The guy wants to be here and would likely stay. No one else available has his track record of success.  If the questionable past is a concern, write some incentives into the contract and make sure he has over sight and is accountable, not that hard.

Isn't it fairly obvious by now that Ben comes with a lot of baggage that MU - and apparently a lot of other schools - aren't eager to contend with?
It's not just MU. BC has shown no interest in him. Wazzou passed on him. Wake doesn't seem interested. He could be a candidate at Cal, but it's too soon to see what their intentions are.
The fact is, despite a solid resume, schools are staying away from him, and that's pretty telling.

I'd still be happy if MU hired him, but I can also understand why there's a lot of trepidation.

I did not have a problem with Martin, but yesterday it was posted that Tenn was going to go after theWichita St. coach, if Martin left, and I felt they were getting the better coach. I do not know why we are not going after the Wichita St coach, but I wish we would.

Howland has said he wants to be at MU, not sure if he has expressed interest in the other schools you mention. I get that there is trepidation and there should be. He seemed to do ok at Pitt. My point was make him accountable. It takes a program to enable a bad coach. If he did some negative things at UCLA then they let him get away with that or at least let it go on without knowing about it.

He simply dont fit into the plans.  Marquette wants to be big time and Marshall doesnt even go after 4 or 5 star recruits (he admitted it)

Wazzou didn't pass on Howland, no way in hell Howland would even be considered for that job.  Howland isn't stupid, that's a dead end job up there.
