Is this a position the new president will hire? Or will Wild and Cords find the guy? Seems to me UWM has had some difficulty with that position. Did they hire the old Packer player? Can't remember the story.

In any event, does it seem to anybody else that AD shouldn't be a difficult position to fill? Christ, it can't be that unique a skill set. Is it really going to take another year to find somebody?

Screw it. I nominate me. I have a good basketball last name (and no association to the actual one coaching UCLA right now, so I'm clean). Let's get the letter writing campaign going scoop!
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

New President.

They want him to hire the AD, Provost and B-School dean.  That way they are all "his guys" and not "inherited legacies."

Announcement was to tell the world (coaching candidates) that you will be dealing with Cords so like it or ..... For the next year.  Cords was my AD nothing but nice things to say!

PuertoRicanNightmare

I like Cords! But finding an AD shouldn't be hard! Get a guy with a good background, knows what he's doing and isn't an arrogant douche bag.

Rockmic87

I'd say we hire Dominican High Schools Ex-AD and Boys Bball Coach Paul Wollershiem.

Had a successful Track record until he screwed up!

Cords staying on another year is a selling point for a new coach, we can give him some input which feeds the head coach ego.

I was thinking of two guys...LW and DePaul's old guy Bradshaw. Crean would also fall in that list. He doesn't have the people skills to be an AD.

But why won't we just hire Broeker?

My favorite Bradshaw move was giving Pat Kennedy a 7 yr extension  after taking DePaul to the NIT. let that sink in.

I've told the story here about him and my run in with him.  Not a fan, I'll leave it at that.

I think you were just providing info rather than pitching him, but I think Koonce has more academic pursuits in mind, given his degree and recent pursuits. Also isn't a very good candidate for AD.

I don't understand why we haven't just given Broeker the job.

Does not want to be AD.

Broeker?  We want somebody who is a team player. Mike would not be a good hire
