I don't think MU is going to be hiring an assistant coach... Cords threw down the "we'll get the best guy" gauntlet in the presser earlier.  If he's going to concede that the best guy MU can get is an assistant, then I hope Lovell puts Cords on the fastest bus back to Wyoming.

Really, really, really unlikely: Illinois, Iowa
Would jump at the offer, but it's not coming: Minn, Nebr, NW, Penn St

And the SEC you just might be right but is there really anyone there we care about?
No chance in 1,000,000 years: UK, UF, Vandy (Stallings isn't leaving his 15 year gig for MU)
I guess, but are they really worth worrying about: Alabama (Grant), Missouri (Haith), South Carolina (F Martin)
Maybe, but I still think probably not: Tennessee (Cuonzo Martin)

Why does this post even need to be typed?  Everyone... stop the madness.  It makes all of us look foolish.

The foolish thing to do would be to write-off a potential candidate simply because you have an inferiority complex.  You don't know what these guys' personal situation, desires, goals, etc. are.  For all you know Sean Miller is married to a Chicago girl whose mother is sick.  Beilein might be sick of playing second fiddle to foosball.  Brey might rather play in a conference where he actually has a chance to compete for a conference championship every year.

I'm sorry... but MU is being linked to one guy who took UCLA to three FF's and was canned after winning the Pac-12 outright and another guy who turned down UCLA.  UCLA is the bluest of the blue-bloods, and we're in the hunt for two guys who were (and still are) good enough for the house that Wooden built?

Please... stop listening to ESPN and everyone else who wants to trash your conference/school because you don't have a football championship.  MU is the best job available right now, and likely would have been the top HC job available over any of the last few years (except UCLA, of course).

VPI could have written off Bazz after he turned down SMU, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Illinois, etc. etc.... but they still made the call, didn't they?  Because here we are.

Howland=73.5%
Smart=15%
Marshall=5%
Martin=3%
Waddle=2%
?=1.5%

I will be fired up if we Ben Howland or Shaka everybody else is not an impact hire unless the 1.5% gets the job and that somebody is currently the headcoach of a Big10, SEC, or ACC team that is playing tonight or tomorrow.
