Get off his jock already geez...Derrick this and Derrick that, he didn't have the assist but passed it to the player who got the assist...oh and he brought the ball up lol. Look I get you like him but c'mon.

Because pointing out how the plays occurs means anything? That's how the plays developed. Facts not fitting into your narrative

Not reaching for anything. Just merely pointing out your total lack of reading comprehension. The post didn't make any judgements or opinions about any players. He literally just stated exactly how the plays happened.

Check out the +/- numbers in the other thread.  Or just keep ignoring the facts.  Your choice.

Who got the three assists on the only 3s we hit in the game - two by Jake and one by Todd - both times where the shooters got the ball in perfect shooting rhythm?  Answer - Derrick.

But I suppose setting up our best outside shooters for wide open threes had NOTHING to do with opening up the paint for the inside-outside game for JW and DG, right?

Derrick's strength is penetrating, and he is getting better at spotting the perimeter guys on those drives.  And when a shooter isn't open, he can get it out to someone like Jamil, who did a fabulous job of getting it back in to Davante.

Derrick Wilson faced a defense that did not sag on him, which gave him room to penetrate.  Given that advantage, he managed 2 points and 3 assists, all of which were to three point shooters.  Two of the 3 assists were him simply swinging the ball around on a perimeter to perimeter pass with Jake coming off screens, hardly much of an accomplishment.  The other was the result of him turning down an open 5 footer on a pass from Gardner to pass to Mayo for a three.  He actually had some bad luck in the assist department yesterday, as he hit the low post a few times where our interior guys did not convert.

Look, Derrick HAS to play.  We don't have anyone else.  He had a nice plus/minus today.  He is not a facilitator, he is not a scorer and most of the time (against a sagging defense) he is not a penetrator.  He is a solid ball handler who plays an extremely conservative game so he doesn't turn the ball over.  Sometimes, like yesterday, that is what we need.  Often we'll need more.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

You're right Wilson is an offensive maestro lol....give me a break. His strength is penetrating? Really? Since when? Pretty sure he is known as a non penetrator whose offensive game revolves around swinging passes around the perimeter and missing free throws. You are probably so excited that he's here next year to lead us to the NIT for the 2nd consecutive year. You are right though...Jamil did an excellent job finding Davante down low yesterday and it was refreshing to see someone with a little court vision out there.
