I've seen a few articles with Middle Tennessee State claiming their current home winning streak is longest in the nation at 30 games. By my count, Marquette has a 27-game winning streak. I have two issues with their claim...

1) Their first win in this alleged 30-game streak started with a game against Cumberland, TN, which is not a D1 team.
2) They lost a NIT game in the middle of the streak against Minnesota. Yes, it was a postseason game, maybe why they don't count it, but then why do they count a win at home in the NIT over Marshall?

That's part of the problem...currently the NCAA doesn't have any official streak stats on their website. I know they did last year, this year, not so much.

You can define it anyway you want.

1)  Longest home win streak.
2)  Longest regular season home win streak.
3)  Longest home win streak against teams not beginning with the letters "L" or "T".

Currently, Middle Tennessee is using #2, but if they lose soon, maybe they'll switch to #3.

There's a problem with that one, too. If their streak is 30, you have to include their win over Marshall...which was a home game in the NIT.

The NCAA has published the home winning streak online in past years... looks like due to reformatting their online records are dead now though.  At the end of last year, MU was #2 behind South Dakota State on this ncaa page, so I'm considering it official.

It was said in multiple games last year towards end of season that we were second to South Dakota state.

During the grambling game it was probably said 10 times.

Middle Tennessee fans are in the vast minority saying otherwise.

BTW - it looks like Kentucky owns the record with 129 in a row! They didn't lose at home for more than a decade b/t 1943-55.

The key to being very good/great in college ball is winning your home games. If we start off conference record with 9 wins at home, suddenly getting to 12, 13, and 14 looks much easier.

It also generally says something about your home court advantage/fans/students.

And that's nothing compared to UCLA in the 70's when they won 88 straight games. They also won an absurd 38 straight NCAA tournament games between 1963/64 and 1973/74.

Just look at Junior's miracle shot last year against UCONN. That's how these streaks are built.
