Sir Lawrence

Didn't they just do one of these a few months ago?

Dear "season ticket holder,"

Marquette University Athletics is working with a graduate school class on campus, and would like to give you the unique opportunity to participate in a brief, 10-15 minute survey. Marquette University is interested in obtaining and understanding the opinions of consumers around its men's basketball program. All answers to this survey will remain anonymous and will be kept confidential.

Participating in this survey will automatically qualify you to be one of 25 fans to receive an Al McGuire Statue, and one grand prize winner will be randomly selected to receive an autographed jersey by a Marquette men's basketball player. If you are selected to receive a prize, a representative from Marquette Athletics will contact you via email.

Ludum habemus.

Just took it.  It was very poorly constructed, IMO.

Asked a lot of vague questions, for example "How much would a mini-plan cost for you to consider it to be too expensive"?

Um, how many tickets are in a mini-plan?

How good are the seats?
Have some patience, FFS.

Benny B

I particularly enjoyed the irony of the question where you try to name the other nine teams in the new Big East.

For kicks, my priority of rivalry/competition:

1. Butler
2. Georgetown
3. Creighton
4. Villanova
5. Xavier
6. St. Johns
7. Providence
8. Seton Hall
9. DePaul

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Agree with those sentiments.

Also, if they know I'm a season ticket holder, why are they asking if I've attended any game in the past 3 years? Are they wondering if I'm a scalper?

Obviously it's a school project but grad students should be able to do better.

Can't wait to get my signed jersey!

I am a season ticket holder, but my survey email says I got it because I have purchased Marquette basketball tickets at some time in the past, so it looks like this was sent out to everyone who has used Ticketmaster to buy Marquette tix.
Have some patience, FFS.

This survery was not for season ticket holders.  Probably went out to anyone who has bought tickets or donated to the Blue and Gold fund.  I received it as well and only make it to 2-3 games a year.

Seemed to ask a lot of questions pertaining to scheduling/purchasing tickets.   I am sure it has to do with improving the quality of the non conf schedule in the upcoming seasons.

It is a grad school project, so it doesn't necessarily mean that the athletic department actually commissioned the survey, or for that matter, plan to use the results.

Got it. Guess I miss interpreted it based on the original post's "Dear Season Ticket Holder."

I got it and my question is...what kind of crappy projects can you do to get a graduate degree? And to think, the person who created this is going to be eligible for 10 degree points for tickets!

I knocked X and creighton on the rivalry thing for sure, I think they will be great competition, had to give some love to St. Johns for the MSG/ NYC connection (screw seton hall :)

Is Scott Hall conducting these surveys?

Another example of poor drafting.  But this time it seems like it was the athletic department.  LW's poor grammar in emails and now this, the athletic department needs someone who can edit.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It would appear the Athletic Department DID commission the survey. Wow...they should be embarrassed at how terribly constructed it was.

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/204203951.html

The Marquette University men's basketball program is currently surveying its fans to find out what they like and don't like.

Mike Broeker, Marquette's deputy director of athletics, says the survey is an annual exercise that "allows us to stay connected with our customers.

"We want to be sure they have a voice."

The survey asks fans how many games they watch on television, and how many games they attend at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

And with so much change going on with conference alignment, fans are asked in the survey if they can identify all of the teams in the new Big East Conference.

Interestingly, survey respondents are asked to rank the teams in the new conference "in terms of your perception of the rivalry and the ability to compete with Marquette in men's basketball."

Marquette also asks in the survey if the move to the new Big East will affect the fan's decision to buy game tickets.

Do they ever ax if the fans prefer a change back to our Warriors nickname?

They did once just to keep warriors nickname supporters happy.

Survey is worthless for those outside of Milwaukee becasue most of the questions pertained to Mens Baskettball and pricing. First qualifier should have been if you are ouside of greater Milwaukee you can opt out.

Anybody try to pay their deposit for next year yet? I can't figure it out on the Mymarquette account.
