NU loses out on a 2013 commit, Jaren Sina, who is a rivals 150 3 star point guard out of NJ.

Good news for the new BE, he is transferring to Seton Hall.

According to the Tribune (duh), all the more important for NU to keep Drew Crawford.

Can you "lose out" on a 3-star recruit?

ESPN has him as a 4 Star

Strengths:
Sina is a super skilled guard with a lethal jump shot. He has an effortless stroke that is virtually automatic when in rhythm from anywhere inside of 25 feet, is equally effective shooting off the catch or the dribble, and can also make tough contested shots late in the shot clock. He handles efficiently vs. pressure, has a terrific feel for the game, is a pinpoint passer, and has a tremendously high basketball I.Q. He can play either guard position, has good poise with the ball in his hands, and is very crafty using shot fakes and jab steps to create space for himself on the perimeter.
Weaknesses:
The biggest uncertainty with Sina is how he progresses physically. While he isn't overly quick or athletic right now it is entirely possible that he is still growing some and hasn't finished filling out his frame or growing into his body. He has a tendency to try to do a little too much at times, playing with the ball at times and trying to make home-run plays instead of using his versatile skills to make the easy play. Defensively he's solid and can only occasionally be exposed against quicker players.
Bottom Line:
He's as skilled and smart as they get but his intangibles are what separate him. He plays with unwavering confidence and just enough cockiness to maximize his talents. It's that type of mindset that allows him to thrive in the big moments.

That means he's a consensus 4-star.

Careful, you are going to ruin the board for him.   ;)

"transferring" to Seton Hall?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Sina committed to Northwestern originally when Fred Hill, Jr was an assistant there. Hill was announced as a new assistant at Seton Hall yesterday morning. Sina committed to Seton Hall a few hours later.

No- sorry LM.  My bad. I misstated it. He de-committed to NU and committed to SH.
