I had us at 3-2 but finishing 13-5. I still honestly think we could win the league. We've already played 2 of our 4 toughest road games. If (and it's a big if) we take care of business at home and beat the teams we should beat on the road, there's no reason we can't win the league.

Not saying we will, just saying we can. We've already played one of the toughest stretches of our schedule and come out better than even the most optimistic of us predicted. And this team is still obviously getting better not just game to game but half to half. If I were handicapping, I'd have Syracuse as the favorite but would put us even money with Louisville for second simply because of the difficulty of their schedule.

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but where did Brew actually predict that MU would win the conference title.  Saying MU "could" or "can" do something is entirely different than actually predicting it will happen.  I think aliens could visit Earth.  Now, if a space ship drops down tomorrow, do I get credit for predicting such an occurrence?

This has no bearing on the bet...Chicos set the terms of the deal.  But I've seen people congratulating Brew and I just haven't seen a thread where he's actually come out and said "I believe MU will win the conference".

Nope...I didn't. I had our overall record correct, though I had one more non-con win and one less in the Big East, I did have us going to the Elite 8, but I didn't predict this. But who am I to look a gift-horse in the mouth when CBB offers me beer if my assessment that we had a shot to win the league was good enough to get me a few brews? ;D

Exactly.  Beer is beer.  When someone offers to buy you one, you don't say "well, technically, I didn't ask for a beer..."

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

That's ok, I think I said 2 of the 3 amigos would make the NBA but I "lost" that bet at the time because McNeal hadn't been signed.  Later he was.....all in good fun.  Fortunately I've been the beneficiary of a few betting wins as well.

dwaderoy2004

Absolutely...if someone wants to buy you a beer, you say thanks and don't ask questions.  I wasn't trying to invalidate the bet or anything, lol.  I just wasn't sure if I missed it in another thread.  BTW, what did he send you?

If aliens land tomorrow, drop me a PM, I'll buy you some beer.

Sounds like a plan. Especially as if we are under an alien invasion tomorrow, we're all screwed anyway.

You're going to ruin the massive circle-jerk. The "congratulations" back slapping was, from beginning to end, just so damn silly.

I could spend three days crafting a post like a certain someone did crafting a post on their over-the-top gloating (even though they admit they didn't predict everything correctly), but that would really be grouchy for a Friday night.  ;)

Oh boo hoo, Marquette made the tournament and didn't suck like you thought. Why people seem disappointed that we were actually good is beyond me.

mileskishnish72

Interesting review - good call, Brew, on the league. As for Siva, not so spot-on.

I have no problem someone being right and calling out those who were dead wrong especially when it includes Marquette winning.
