The difference between jobs just isn't as great anymore. I don't think Buzz is leaving, but I wish his name was listed in there just to help stop some of the speculation.

All the coaches listed are done and either passed on a job or signed an extension.  Buzz is still working this season.

Everything Katz says is spot on.  It'll be interesting to see who actually takes the UCLA or Minny job.

I think it's a great article except for the relationship part.

I've posted this before, if the up and coming coaches stick around, the new league can be something special with Stevens, Williams, Wright, JT3, Laven, Cooley et. al.  matching wits game after game over the years.  If some of the teams play some home and homes with Gonzaga and VCU, it could create a critical mass of good basketball with some rivalries built up.

I, for one, am looking forward to playing Butler on a regular basis.

We R Final Four

Not sure on the pressure bullet point as Katz describes it. College coaches do this job 24/7 at small schools as well--not just at Kentucky. I bet Buzz would suggest the smaller schools have to work harder than the blue bloods.

Maybe he isn't listed because teams don't waste their time by asking him any more.......

At least that is what I want to think.
Have some patience, FFS.

And I can't wait for Buzz to pull out that famous line... "Well, I don't have nearly the equity that the great Coach Stevens has based on his back to back National Championship games but...."

Actually, here hoping that its actually the reverse after we WIN the National Championship.

It will be interesting how long this lasts (less big time schools keep their coaches).  One thing I have learned about college athletics is that the big schools will do anything in their power to ensure they stay on top.

Whether it takes rule changes, breaking off into their own division, breaking up conferences (see old Big East) they will do whatever it takes to ensure there is less parity.

But don't forget, it's all about the "student athletes."  ::)

man if/when Buzz wins a NC it'll be super entertaining to hear him talk with an edge the next season... "That team's gone... This new team we have sucks, we're not any good at all."

My favorite:

"Every school tends to overrate their job and how enticing the job offer is to the coaches."
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.
