Anybody know how to get tickets?  Anybody have connections to get some good seats?  I'm planning on being there Thursday and (hopefully) Saturday.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

WE ARE MARQUETTE!

monkeyman34

Keep your eye out on Craigslist, but I'd meet in person to buy the tickets.

1990Warrior

Saw them on ticketmaster - 192 for the cheapest.

Rupp is huge and there are a lot of very bad seats.

wadesworld

Do we know what time we're playing/which session?

Benny B

Call/email the MU ticket office, first.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I've gone the last two years and have scalped great seats each time. I plan on doing the same this year. Paid $120 in Cleveland two years ago for 4th row- mid court against Xavier.

How early do you do this?

muarmy81

It depends. I got the tickets against Xavier about 20 minutes before tip off and last year in Louisville we got Lower bowl seats about An hour before tip for about $80.

Wow, really? That's nice.  You going again this year?

muarmy81

If my brother comes down from chi then I will. I told him that the last two years we've gone MU went tot the S16...we can't screw that up.

The Xavier game we actually scalped tickets About 12 seats down from father wild.

If MU makes Saturday, it will be a really tough ticket with a lot of competition... vastly different ticket market than Cleveland's Cuse game.  In fact, I would be very surprised if there will be many seats under the face value of $85 even at the last minute.

While's it's the largest arena in the country at 23.5k, you will have rabid Louisville fans making the short drive to see a good matchup vs Mizzou/CSU.  You will also have UK's basketball-crazy fans (left out of NCAA's) who will want to enjoy a Saturday afternoon rooting against top-seeded Louisville.

Btw, this is coming from a value-shopper for last minute tickets.  The key is to know your market.  I don't want MU fans to be shutout.  This is no Cleveland, and Louisville ticket prices were very strong up until gametime.

If anyone dares to sit wayyyy up there, they are selling the last rows of Rupp on ticketmaster for Saturday... I expect it will sell out in the next couple hours.  That being said, I personally wouldn't sit up there. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1600493ADDCB5455?artistid=1239566&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=7

Pretty stoked the venue is fairly close to us.

Yeah I looked at Ticketmaster.  Are there any other options besides for that or scalping?  I will shoot Marquette's ticket office about tickets as well.  Anything else I should do/anywhere else I should look?

How do I get tickets? Tickets were made available through a presale to season ticket holders, student "Fanatics" ticket holders, Blue & Gold Fund donors and Marquette University donors at $500 or above for the current fiscal year.

Stubhub for sure since it's guaranteed legit or money back.   Craigslist is usually cheaper, more of a pain and you gotta watch out for fake tix and sellers/buyers flaking out.  This year the NCAA is offering Ticketmaster's Ticketfast (aka etix) which is sure to eff over a lot of people when scumbags sell duplicates.

Here's what you do...sometime tomorrow, call the ticket offices at Butler/Davidson/ and Bucknell. I would almost guarantee they have unsold tickets. Buy from them.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

The hotels hosting the teams usually have tickets too.  You have to tip the concierge, but it worked for me in Minny the year MU/Wade went off on Kentucky.

Butler and Davidson will for sure take up their allotment.  Bucknell may not.

Thanks for the help.  So if I'm reading this correctly, the only way you're getting tickets without buying them 2nd hand is if you're with a season ticket holder, and even then you might not get them?  I couldn't even get my name on the tickets if my dad (long time season ticket holder) requests them for me?

Litehouse

The ticket for Thurs might not be too bad, since our session will be split from Louisville, either night or day.  It might actually be extremely easy to get tickets if all the Louisville fans buy tickets for the whole weekend and then sell our session for Thurs.  But if we win the game on Sat. we'll be in the same session as Louisville and tickets will be extremely difficult, if not impossible.

Also, looking at Stubhub...

"NCAA Tournament Lexington Full Strip Tickets (Includes all Three Sessions)"

That would mean both Sessions on Thursday and the Saturday Session are all included within the price of the single ticket price, correct?  So if there are 2 tickets listed at $300, that means it's $300/ticket ($600 total), but that would break down to $100/game / would include all 3 sessions in that $300, correct?

Looks to me that your dad (or "his spouse") will be the only person who would be allowed to pick up the tickets in Lexington.
Have some patience, FFS.

Stubhub also sells by single sessions.  If it were me and not getting through MU, I'd pick up Thursday MU session on the street or craigs... even stubhub last minute for cheap.  I'd then decide if it's worth the money to see Louisville play a 16seed and Mizzou/CSU on Thursday.

I'd probably pick up the Saturday session on stubhub solo before they got more expensive.

To all of those coming to Lexington, i am a huge Marquette fan and a current student of Kentucky. If you have any questions let me know.

As for seats...upper seats are all benches and lowers are actual seats like the BC. Rupp is bigger then the BMO Harris by about 5/6 K. It is a great environment when it is full, but when it's empty it feels like a ghost town. If you can get cheap lowers i'd go for it and then move down.

Go Hilltopers!
