Kind of surprised Biedschied was involved... haven't watched the video closely but would have to think he wasn't the aggressor in terms of actual punches flying... thin kid.. watched him a fair amount in AAU and he always seemed real nice/pleasant... had braces for awhile if I remember right. Just is one of the last guys I'd guess would be in an on court fight.

From what I saw he was doing a lot of trash talking during the free throws prior to getting punched.

Did we ever hear of suspensions from both sides?  I'm hoping it's just the Johns player.  We need ND full strength at Louisville.

ESPN reporting Pointer is out for the rest of the season, including tourneys:

Biedscheid out for Louisville:

Have some patience, FFS.

FYI--This article is about Harrison, who was previously suspended for the season, not Pointer.  What I've seen says that Pointer will just be suspended one game.  Haven't seen any more about Amir Garrett, who was ejected for coming off the bench during the fight.

Isn't leaving the bench an automatic 1-game suspension? Or am I confusing NCAA basketball rules with IHSA rules from the late 90s?

What I read yesterday is that it is an in-game ejection, and then the BE would review it for further action.  From the video I saw, though, it didn't really look like he got into it at all--just was on the outskirts of the scrum.

Fighting, though, is an auto one-game suspension, which is why Pointer is out for Saturday.
