DJO got in at the end of the Lakers-Phx game last night and in 40 seconds showed his athleticism. On offense he drove the lane and put up a drop back shot that hit the back of the rim. On defense he fought through a pic at the top of the lane and forced his man to miss a layup, rebounded and lobbed a 3/4 court pass to an unguarded Darius Miles. He then sprinted down the court to rebound the missed layup and missed the putback at the buzzer. 0-2 with 2 rebounds in 40 secs.!  He'll still be on bench until Nash comes back.

Steve Blake got hurt last night too. Maybe DJO can get more playing time?
I'm Ron Burgundy?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's the first time in NBA history Darius threw a 3/4 court pass to Darius.

I'm convinced that DJO can help an NBA team.  Be great if he can stick with the Lakers.

So .. I guess I missed DJO being called back from the D-League?

Not sure if he will ever actually see D-league action with the injuries to the Lakers, but the D-league season hasn't begun yet.

Epic talent whose career was derailed by injuries. Eerie to think of what happened to Shaun Livingston and Miles and that they were both Mr. Basketball Illinois within a few years of each other.

The entire list of Illinois Mr. Basketball reads the same for about 90% of the players.

I'm guessing he meant Darius Morris.

Really? Show me a state with a more impressive list. The only thing 90% represents is the number of guys who made an NBA team.

Never said the list wasn't impressive, but a lack of reaching potential is prevalent, which was the point of the original poster.

this is great - just to see the court in an NBA game.  I was so hoping Jerel would get in for at least a bit like this when he was on the roster last year.  Good job DJO!  A very small percentage of great college players ever see an NBA court during the regular season.

Now hopefully you can get some more time!
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

DJO played last three minutes of last nights game vs. the Mavs and ran the point. He would have had about5 assists if people could have made wide open shots as he drew defense on his drives and kick outs.
It was heartwarming to watch him and Jae standing together on the court during free throw attempts.
