Those bots post links because they want to get higher positions in Google by increasing the number of sites that have links back to their website. Google has a tag called "nofollow" that can be added to links to make them not count towards Google's ranking's. If you added this Mod, you'd take away their incentive to post links and probably get a lot of them to stop all together over time.
