Now that we convinced Fr. P and LW to keep Buzz on as our head coach  ...KEEP THOSE EMAILS COMING and let's get this name changed back to WARRIORS!

The name change isn't going to happen.  Maybe when political correctness is on the retreat in 10-20 years and then if the will is there...maybe.  One way or the other, Al McGuire is synonymous with Marquette.  Let's hope Buzz aspires to the same sublimity.

Well, MU played in the MECCA before Al was coach.  Honestly, we'd probably be like Xavier or SLU....less prestigious in basketball, more of a regional focus, but still a good school.

FYI, We played in the Mecca the whole time AL was coach. The Milwaukee arena and Mecca are the same thing.

Right.  My point was that we wouldn't have been playing in the Old Gym, because we didn't play there even before Al got there.

That was a good read, whomever dr childs is.  It goes against the grain of what Goose, Lenny, Seinfeld and others are saying here.  A whole lot of people claiming to be insiders and they all have different things to say.
