  • I prefer a team that's eligible, not paid for

But Stokes was coming right out of high school...not a transfer.

See, after thinking about this, I don't think Taylor could have played here at all this year.  I mean when Maymon and Smith transferred from MU, there was this rush to get them enrolled in January.  I doubt they could have sat at home for the spring semester, enrolled in the fall, and then began playing  the next spring.

Maymon and Smith were going from one Division I school to another.  The difference is that TJ is not a transfer from Oklahoma, he would have been coming from a JUCO where he had been for a year.  In that situation, I think that he would be treated like any student who is moving up to Division I from JUCO or HS.  Remember the year of eligibility he'll have used up before he gets here will all have been from Paris CC, so he used no eligibility at Oklahoma.

The other question is even if TJ were willing  to play for MU this year, would Buzz have wanted him on a team that already had DJO, Vander, Todd, and Jamail.  I think that Buzz would have rather have waited and had TJ with 3 years of eligibility to go.  Also, it would be unrealistic to expect Paris to want to let him play for only the first semester.  Plus, I bet that after having a year off from competitive basketball, TJ wanted a year of JUCO ball to get his game back together.

But, the only thing I'm positive about, is that we have a potential final exam question here for a course on NCAA compliance.

Some more of TJ's JUCO stats: 2.9 assists, 1.25 steals, and 1.8 T/O's.  Not a great T/O to assist ratio.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
