Buzz said that UCONN is prolly the most talented team in the league. They're at home and have their backs against the wall. They desperately need this game. I expect UCONN to play their best game of the year so I will be pretty surprised if we win this game actually. Hope I'm wrong, but have had a bad feeling about this one all week that UCONN will for once play to their actual talent level and bring their "A" game.

While I agree that this will be a very tough game for us (about to leave for Hartford in an hour), ND and Syracuse were tougher.  Agree that we will have a hard time coming away with a win (especially since we lost those other two games).  UConn is talented but not playing well.  Their size is my biggest concern.
Calvin:  I'm a genius.  But I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

When we lay an egg, it tends to be on national tv too.

That trend ends today.

I totally agree with your fear, I'm actually trying to mull over how we can pull the "upset".  I guess we just have to constantly outwork them.  If we can play as hard as we did the last 35 minutes against Cincy, we should be fine.  However, it might not be realistic to think we can play that well and that hard for 40 minutes.

Size is my thoughts also.  Junior, DJO and Vander will have trouble  driving the lane with Drummond, Oriaki, Daniels, Olander and even Smith.  I see lots of blocks, but am hoping for lots of fouls.

Key to this game is outside shooting and if MU makes some threes they should be alright, but layups not in the transition game will be hard to find.  Lets hope for a great outside shooting day.

MUDPT

Can't give away possessions today, they don't force any, we are pretty good at protecting it.  Vice versa as well defensively; they like to turn it over, we like to force turnovers.  Need to gain possessions for our superior offense because we probably won't get many on the offensive boards and will give up a ton of offensive boards to them.

I think this game will set the tone for the rest of the season. I think the Warriors play a full 40 minutes and win this one and go 3-1 over the next four games. I would like to see the Warriors press the s%#t out of UConn, it seemed to work well enough against Cinncy. Go MU!

MUFan42

This will be the first game where MU can't afford to get down our customary 10-15 points. UCONN doesn't need the confidence and being at home could be tough to get back into it.

Share Your Dread...LMAO......except you may be right, Wadesworld.  UCONN is a cornered wounded animal.

This is gonna be a back and forth nailbiter the whole game, gonna come down to last second shot which Crowder or DJO will miss and J Wilson will win it with the put back.   Or we'll get our asses handed to us....:)
"I went into a restaurant one night and ordered lobster, and the waiter brought me one with a claw missing. He told me that in the back there's a tank they keep the lobsters in and while they're in there, they fight and sometimes one loses a claw. I told him to bring me a winner."  Al McGuire

Digger of course picks UConn and says they found themselves against Depaul. The other guys like MU. I can't beleive Digger
was ever a coach, he seems so dense.

He's old-school Notre Dame. He hates MU with a passion. Honestly, I'd probably more upset if he DID pick us.

Scouting report on UConn says if you punch them in the face long enough they'll wither...that said, last time we had a lead like this on the road was Georgetown.

schubert33

I hope the learned from the Georgetown game.  The first 5 minutes are crucial.

He hated us even before ND. When he coached at Fordham in '71 we we wooped him at the Garden when they were ranked #4.  We were #2 at the time.
