Took my annual pilgrimage to Milwaukee with non-Marquette alum friends (Xavier-St. Louis U, St. Louis U-Mizzou, Loras-St. Marys, Seattle U-Mizzou)  These guys started going with me when SLU and MU played conference games). The show Marquette puts on during time outs and stoppages is great.  To a man, my friends said they've never seen one as good as MU's.  They've come to love MU and Milwaukee.  One guy always comments, "I've never seen so many people drinking beer at a game"!  They always comment about how friendly MU students and alums are and how they all love Milwaukee.  The Pfister is still one of the best.  Hey, try the oysters at Harbor House--tremendous! Oh, basketball game pretty good too!

Great post.  I'm an admitted homer and a downtown resident, and I love to hear stuff like this.  As a city, we don't give ourselves enough credit.  While there will be endless debate about the "best student section in the country", the number of gold vests, the lack of gold t-shirts, etc etc., quality ball and the atmosphere at the BC is what drew this lapsed fan back into the fold about a dozen years ago.
