Drops a home game to ND, who went only 7 deep.

I guess they want to solidify the BE's NCAA bids...but at their own expense?

They thought they could win just by showing up. Terrible shot selection, and a HOF coach at home.

Boatright will be back this week. Calhoun said a while ago they needed him back soon. Wonder if he will have an impact or not...

We saw this the last few years with NOVA tanking at the end of the year too. never know what's going on in the locker room.

Also, the Hall is tanking too, weird to see the Irish up top with all their injuries, great coaching job by the mock turtleneck...

UConn needs to step up their play significantly.  Their schedule steps up and it's not impossible for them to play their way OUT of the NCAA tournament.  Hats off to the Domers.  They executed their gameplan perfectly.

And by the way, Boatright played extensively today.

ND really slowed the game down.  They milked the shotclock almost every time down to around the eight second mark and Brey confirmed that was his plan in the post game interview.  Not a blowout by ND, but a close well played gameplan.

UCONN has talent, but can't explain why adjustments weren't made since UCONN likes to play abit uptempo.

BTW, Boatwright played today and that kid is really fast.

Boatright played today, even though his family received a free car and $8000. How does that happen?

He got the Cam Newton treatment. No Joke.

Based on the NCAA's own statement, that's not an accurate recitation.  $1,200, car payments and a plane ticket/plane tickets.    Joe Nocera wrote at least two columns on the situation, so the information is out there if you would really like to know.

He's going to pay it back, so it's all okay.

The rise of ND is a little scary.  We have to play them again on the road, (seems like we always play them on the road).  They are really tough in that building.  I'd give MU a much better chance at beating UCONN in Hartford than beating ND at the Joyce.  Since they already have a win over Syr a win over us would give them a bunch of tie breakers in the battle for second place.

UConn has a great collection of individual talent. There is not one ounce of team spirit. They will lose more this season.

Really, it just puts into perspective just how amazing Kemba Walker was to ride that horse last March.

I watched the game.  Very little heart in UConn today.

Nobody should underestimate ND.  They play good team basketball and will be very tough to beat at the Joyce on Saturday.  We absolutely must prevent open 3 looks, rebound effectively, and get out and run when we can.  They are a bit like watching Wisconsin.  JC is going to be critical in his defense of Atkins who makes their offensive engine run.

Looking at the remaining schedule, I think this is the toughest game we have left. I'm sure most will disagree, but Cooley's going to be really tough inside on both ends, they have solid guardplay, and have the style to take us out of our rhythm. UConn, WVU, GT, and Cincy will all be tough games, but considering how good they are at the Joyce, this is a very tough looking match-up.

I'm headed down to South Bend next weekend. Starting to get a bit nervous.

JTBMU7

the ND game is worrisome, no doubt, but if they are only able to go 7 deep, i have to think we can run them and wear them down a bit. also, I dont think they are a particularly long/athletic team, or a great rebounding team, which have been our kryptonite this year.

still think it'll be a tough, close game. but MU should win as every matchup is in our favor.

BTW - who does ND play this week prior to facing us?

No one. They're off all week.

Calhoun's game plan is to win 5 in a row at the the Big East Championship; then win six in a row for a second consecutive national championship.

You reap what you sew.  If U-Conn crumbles, they'll get no pity from me. Boatright probably needs the dough for child support.  He had fathered three children by three different women before he graduated from High School.  I figure by the time he gets out of U-Conn, he might have 6-7 kids.

Cut him a break???  I sure hope not.  How do you overlook that in recruiting a kid?  The whole thing has had mucho stench on it from day one.  And yeah, Boatright is the kid that was promised a scholarship to USC when he was in 8th grade by then coach Tim Floyd.

As mentioned, they are off this week.  UConn had no plan to deal with the Domers 2/3 zone.  Way too much standing around.  But let's of course focus our attention on Tuesday night first.

MattyWarrior

NDs guards seem to play real well together, and the're kind of a team like us, tough and disciplined.

Anyone have a quick way to check how many times we've played at ND versus home since joining the BE?

Including Saturday's match-up, MU had traveled to South Bend six times compared to ND's four trips to Milwaukee.
