Interesting article from Dana O'Neill. Makes you wonder how lucky we've been and how fast that success can feel like a lifetime ago, especially since teams change dramatically from year to year.

Since conference realignment in the 2005-06 season, only four of the 16 teams have been at least .500 in conference play every year:  Marquette, Pittsburgh, Villanova, West Virginia.

Other teams' (Syracuse, UConn) lows may have been lower, but how has their highs been so much higher than ours?

Programs like Syracuse and UConn simply have an easier time recruiting the cream of the crop.  It's then much easier to go from boom or bust in a year or two.

If I'm not mistaken, were the only one of that bunch to go through a coaching change since 05-06

Better recruiting based on a long history of recent success.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
